Samurai Slasher

A top down arcade style fighting game where every hit kills. Up to four players compete in procedurally generated arenas. Move with the left stick, attack with RT when the charge meter is full, block with LT when the charge meter is at least half full. Blocking an attack, or two opponents attacking each other at the same time leads to a quick time event where the first player to hit the prompted button wins.


I had a lot of fun iterating on the design and implementing elements such as the charge meter and round system. As a designer, a lot of thought and testing was needed to make the gameplay fast-paced and consistently tense as we had hoped. This was also the first game I worked on with procedurally generated levels, which led to some very unique playtests and iterations.
